How hard is this stuff? To me, everything under the bonnet is just ‘the motor’.

Some of the tips in this guide will require you pop the bonnet and brave the exposure to the dark world that is ‘the motor’. But certainly not all. Quite a few are entirely motor-free, and most are mess-free — especially if you do them regularly.

The majority are quick too. You can do them before you leave for work, while you’re waiting for your wife to get out the door, or while you’re waiting for your husband to get the new Navman working for the “deceptively complex” journey to the local shopping centre.

This is an ‘everyday’ guide for ‘everyday’ people. (Except for the sections on the elementary flux capacitor and the particle accelerator unit. If you use the incorrect sonic screwdriver on those units, you might cause some slightly inconvenient space-time-continuum issues. Don’t worry too much about them though. Your friends and family will probably never notice you’ve been replaced by a version of you from a parallel universe.)

So take heart. It’ll be fun. We promise.

Disclaimer: Our vehicles don’t come equipped with elementary flux capacitors or particle accelerator units, as standard, and we’re unaware of any compatible after-market units. If you know of any, please email our Time Travel department.
